Advancing safety standards in urban commercial vehicles: Exploring the evolution from state-of-the-art to URBANIZED
We are pleased to invite you to the next URBANIZED webinar: Advancing safety standards in urban commercial vehicles: Exploring the evolution from state-of-the-art to URBANIZED.
This webinar will take place on Friday 30th June 2023, 10:00 – 11:00 CEST
Typically, light commercial vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tons undergo crash tests to assess their structural strength and protect occupants in frontal, side, and rear impacts. These tests determine how well the vehicles absorb and distribute crash forces, aiming to minimise the risk of harm to those inside.
The URBANIZED project aims to surpass existing safety evaluations for such vehicles and enhance safety by incorporating more comprehensive standards, similar to those applied by Euro NCAP during the 2 campaigns for heavy quadricycles. To make urban commercial vehicles safer, improved structural design and crash energy absorption mechanisms are essential to enhance occupant protection during collisions.
In the upcoming webinar, we will closely examine the safety enhancements made in the state-of-the-art vehicle, which have played a pivotal role in the development of the advanced vehicle URBANIZED. We will delve into the specific safety improvements implemented, including structural enhancements and the integration of the restraint systems.
Hosted by Eleni Chalkia (CERTH), we are delighted to be joined by the following speakers:
- Salvador Ruiz – IDIADA
- Lamberto Salvan – ALKE
- Carles Vidal – IDIADA
- Mario Perez – IDIADA
By exploring the evolution from state-of-the-art vehicle to URBANIZED in terms of safety, participants will gain valuable insights into the significant strides made in ensuring occupant protection, and enhancing overall safety standards in the automotive industry. The webinar will provide a comprehensive overview of the state-of-the-art safety features and methodologies driving the continuous improvement and advancement of vehicle safety.
